Pre-natal and Birth Therapy

Pre-natal and Birth Therapy (PBT) is a slow, gentle, and non-invasive form of body-centered therapy developed over the past 25 years by psychologist William Emerson, Ray Castellino, DC (retired) and several other pioneers in the fields of psychology, medicine, and energy work. The focus of PBT is on helping people of all ages release restrictive patterns from the time of conception, gestation, birth, and soon after birth. As these primary patterns resolve we become freer to live healthier more authentic lives.

PBT skills include a combination of negotiated touch, verbal dialogue, energy work, movement work, and interactive play.

Laura completed a Foundation Training and postgraduate training in Castellino Pre-Natal and Birth Therapy in Santa Barbara, CA with Ray Castellino in 2000.

Client Comment

I’ve known Laura for more than twenty years through our studies in Psychosynthesis. I’ve been working with her off and on ever since. Laura is a wonderful practitioner. She’s trained in a number of different bodywork modalities, including Polarity and Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and has a variety of different skills. She’s also trained as a psychotherapist. So whatever the issue is that I want to work on, whether it’s physical or psychological, she has a graceful and sophisticated response.

But there’s something else even more important that makes Laura good at what she does. She’s an excellent listener. Whenever I tell her about an issue I’m dealing with, she enters my model of the world, she empathizes with me. Once she’s really listened and understood my experience her insights and suggestions often point me in a new and fruitful direction. As a result, I’ve grown and benefited tremendously from working with Laura over the years.
